We are thrilled to announce that Marmax Recycled Products has won the prize for Green Business Small Company Award at Durham Environment Awards 2024!

This award reflects our ongoing commitment to being a Green Business in every possible way. At Marmax, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do—from the tools we use, the products we create, to our active involvement in the local community. Receiving this recognition for our “great design, environmental guardianship, and community spirit in County Durham” is a fantastic acknowledgment of these efforts.

This achievement is the result of our holistic approach to sustainability here at Marmax, something we achieve through multiple avenues. First and foremost, all of our products are made using 100% recycled material to provide a sustainable option for outdoor furniture. In line with this, we have planted over 1,000 trees with the Green Organisation to help combat deforestation, an issue that defines our commitment to making eco-friendly outdoor furniture. Furthermore, by recycling all of our waste products, we ensure a fully closed loop on plastic consumption, and use electrically powered forklift trucks, producing fewer emissions.

We also strive to have our efforts reverberate throughout our community. As a leader in sustainable manufacturing of 100% recycled products, which are often used in schools, it is important for Marmax to give back in a way that aligns with our company values. In this spirit, we launched an initiative in local schools, asking students in Durham County to create products from recycled materials that would help with recycling at home, school, or in the workplace. The goal of this challenge was to inspire students and communities to recycle more! Our RECOUP scheme is just one example of the many sustainable practices that are integral to the Marmax ethos, but it provides a brilliant example of our intention to share our philosophies with the local community.
