Marmax Recycled Products – COP 26

Leaders around the world have joined together in Glasgow to participate in the UN Climate Change Conference UK 2021 (COP 26) to discuss measures to reduce the ongoing effects of climate change.

One primary cause of climate change is deforestation which has boomed in recent years due to the growing demand for wood, land, materials and natural resources. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, host of COP 26 said: “We must stop the devastating loss of our forests and end the role of humanity as nature’s conqueror and instead become nature’s custodian.” This concluded with countries signing a pledge to bring deforestation to an end and reverse the damage already done to our forests by 2030.

This is great news for Team Marmax. Not only are we passionate about the environment, we are also delighted to produce a range of outdoor furniture made from 100% recycled HDPE plastic, the perfect alternative to wood, as it doesn’t rust, corrode, splinter, or require consistent maintenance. Just one of our Marmax benches uses the equivalent of 2000 plastic bottles, making a better alternative to wood and metal while also keeping plastic out of our landfill sites and oceans.

All recycled products must not be seen as second rate, but an equal or better alternative to what is already available, with the added advantage of helping to improve the environment. Our products are excellent examples of this policy in action and can be used in the classroom or playground as examples of recycling in practice.

We at Marmax strive to be more environmentally friendly every day, so should you!
